Job Description

The Expediting role will serve as the single point of contact for all Engineering, Subcontract and OEM Submittals, Support Advanced Work Packaging tracking and reporting, expedite fabricated material and equipment, no matter what the criticality level is. The Expeditor role must be proactive and sensitive to the time-critical nature of all aspects of the project schedule. All Expeditors will use Oracle to track, update, maintain & report. Within these systems you will be able to monitor contractual awards, change orders and obtain copies of the documents at any time. Dependent upon project requirements, other tools or systems may be used to support Expediting efforts. Coordinates closely with the Expediting Manager, Project Executive, Engineering Manager, Project Procurement Managers and Project Construction Manager to ensure all Project requirements are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all Expeditor duties in accordance with the Project Expediting Standard Operating Procedure for the project in which assigned.
  • Runs Expediting calls with suppliers to support assigned packages.
  • Provides updates to the project team on deliverables according to the contract to support Advanced Work Packaging.
  • Attends weekly project meetings.
  • Performs expediting activities associated with ensuring on-time delivery of equipment/material and documentation.
  • Could be embedded in fabrication facility or jobsite as required
  • Travel required 25% of time" for home office positions
  • Assist in Expediting miscellaneous materials purchased by others
  • Assist on site Material Management team with material shipment paperwork and closeout
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc).
  • Critical thinking skills/problem solving skills to Plan and perform work where only general policies or procedures are available
  • Experienced communicator with effective verbal and written communication that allows for relationship and rapport building
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to recognize timelines and deadlines to prioritize work accordingly
REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree
  • 3-25 years of relevant experience
  • Expediting experience in large industrial construction project
  • Experience leading and managing others
  • Experience/Working knowledge of Oracle
  • Intermediate to Advance knowledge of working with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
