POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for checking guests in and out of hotel as needed in an efficient manner with needs of the guests servicing primary consideration.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for registering all guests in and out of the hotel.
Ensuring that all proper credit and pertinent information is obtained.
Responsible for issuing safety deposit boxes.
Prepare daily cash reports, balancing payments and disbursements.
Assists reservations by accepting and confirming reservations.
Performs tell duties as cashing checks, petty cash, and other cash transactions according to front office procedures.
Responsible for operating bank.
Assure the safety and security of guest and employees.
Responsible for regular and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.
Responsible for developing and maintaining positive guest relations, including but not limited to, resolving minor guest disputes and assist in ensuring the safety and security of all guests and employees.
Knowledge of all special events and promotional activities available to guest.
Other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The position is responsible to the Front Office Manager for successful performance of assigned duties.
EQUIPMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS
Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following:
Switchboard with multi lines.
Holidex/or reservation computer system, telephone.
Credit card machine and office equipment. Facsimile machine and beeper.
Safety deposit boxes and card key equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Outdoor work area exposed to various weather conditions. Casino environment exposed to various temperatures, smoke, dust and fumes, bright lights, and excessive noise levels. Use of stairs, elevators, and / or escalators.
ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Ability to work shifts as scheduled.
2. Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
3. Good oral communications skills.
4. Ability to work a computer, switchboard and facsimile machine.
5. Knowledge of the Innkeepers Laws and regulations and OSHA regulations.
6. Ability to work under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Trade school or vocational/technical training in hotel and motel management preferred.
One year in high volume hotel as a desk clerk or reservationist preferred.
Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Ability to obtain and hold a Louisiana Responsible Vendor's card. Must be able to obtain and hold a Calcasieu Parish Bar card (leave if required) Ability to obtain and hold any and all licenses, certifications, insurance coverage or any other indemnifications which may be required by the company for the successful completion of the duties associated with this position.
