Process Safety EngineerSchedule: Full-time Onsite M-F
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist to join their team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Develop and implement strategies that drive continuous improvement in PSM and RMP systems, programs, and training.Serve as a central resource to ensure consistency in PSM and RMP practices across facilities and business units.Provide technical guidance on critical PSM activities and ensure regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.Lead or participate in operational risk assessments such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Studies, and other risk assessments.Apply technical expertise in the development and improvement of process safety programs, policies, and procedures.Monitor regulatory changes; Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators to leadership.Benchmark safety systems, culture, and performance against industry standards and recommend improvement initiatives.Promote and support the company's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) principles and values; participate in safety committees, teams, and initiatives as needed.Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field required.Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a PSM-covered industry-petrochemical/refineryProven ability to develop, write, and implement Process Safety programs.Experience leading or participating in operational risk assessments (PHAs, LOPA, SIL Studies, etc.).Formal training in risk assessment leadership (PHA, LOPA, SIL, Human Factors, MOC, PSSR).Formal training in TapRoot root cause analysis.Experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to utilize database systems and job-related applications.Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking); talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment.
