Job Details

OF POSITION: Under the direction of the supervisor or lead person, transports patients and visitors of all ages to and from various clinics and nursing units within the hospital as requested. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Patient Escort Supervisor RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Adheres to LCMH policies to properly identify patients using 2 patient identifiers. Adheres to hand off communication policy. Maintains patient safety by correctly securing patients on transfer device. Utilizes proper body mechanics when transporting patients. Knowledge of hospital/clinic layout and utilizes safest and most expedient route for patients delivery. Maintains direct communication with the patient while transporting to ensure patient comfort and security. Prioritizes transport requests. Assists in mail collection and/or delivery when duties allow.
