As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will greet personnel and visitors, verify credentials, issue and manage badges, and help maintain orderly entry and exit points. You will complete security-related checks, document activity, and communicate clearly with site teams and leadership. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license in the job state, and it offers a role where agility, teamwork, and integrity matter every day.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, verifying appointments and documenting entries and exits per site requirements.
- Screen employees, contractors and visitors for required authorizations, required training status and restricted-area permissions before allowing access.
- Coordinate vehicle entry and exit by confirming driver identification, validating delivery paperwork, directing traffic flow and completing vehicle and load documentation as required by site policy.
- Monitor alarms, access control systems, cameras and communication channels, and report unusual activity using established escalation procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports including shift activity, visitor records, key control records, pass-down information and incident documentation.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifications to site representatives and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including exterior areas, perimeter points, parking areas and critical infrastructure zones, watching for conditions that could lead to loss and/or interruption of operations.
- Enforce posted rules related to restricted areas, photography limitations, prohibited items and credential display, using a professional customer service approach.
- Support emergency response activities such as assisting with evacuations, controlling access to affected areas and guiding arriving responders to the correct location.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Applicants must have 1+ years' law enforcement experience or 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years' security experience.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
